Her career began in the 1980s, and became famous because of her role as Siobhan Ryan on the daytime soap opera Ryan's Hope from 1982 to the year 1986. Crime Scene Investigation, a TV series that ran from 2000 to 2013, and Immortality the TV movie released in the year 2015. The role was reprised in Immortality's sequel Vegas (2022-present). Helgenberger was also well-known for his role as K.C. Koloski was a supporting actress on ABC drama China Beach, which aired from 1988 to 1991. She was awarded one Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actress for Drama Series in the year 1990. Additionally, she has a role in the TV series Under the Dome as well as in the show Intelligence. She also appeared in the films Species (2000) Erin Brockovich (2000) Species II (2002) and Mr. Brooks (2007). In recognition of her efforts, she earned four Daytime Emmy Award nominations. McCain's other projects include becoming an Daily Mail columnist after her period of three years on The View. McCain was the author of four books as well, My Dad John McCain (2008), Dirty Sexy Politics (2010), America You Sexy Bitch A Love-Letter to Freedom in 2012 along with Michael Ian Black and Bad Republican 2022.
